This violin is exceptionally nice to play. The sound qualities are impressive across all strings and consistent up and down the fingerboard. The tonal clarity is apparent the first time I drew the bow on the strings. I have played this model with my bluegrass jam groups and all have found this model to be very pleasing. In my opinion, this is a very worthy violin, to be counted among a high-end instruments and certainly offers lots of promise.

By comparison to the Tiger Flamed Maple violin, the First Chair is not as loud as some other models, but in a small ensemble, you won't find it necessary to back off on the bow to balance it out with the other musicians. There is something about this model that picks up and responds to certain nuances in bowing that differentiate one violin from the next.

If you think you are too old to learn violin, it wasn't until I was about age 44 that I started playing. Before that, I played trumpet, french horn, piano, and recorder. Conclusion: Anyone can play violin. The key is practice, practice, practice. Pick it up at least three or four times a week, or even better -- daily. Also, if you need music to practice with, I have picked up a ton of it from fiddlefork.com and can send you web links.

We will ship within one business day after payment is received. Returns may not show any signs of damage, scratches, or abuse, and all parts and accessories must be included with returns in original packaging. Returns require return authorization with shipping instructions and may result in inspection charge.  Delivery subject to available stock.

Procedure for Shipping Damage or Defective Items
In the event that item is received as damaged or defective, buyer must contact seller within 3 days. Proof of shipping damage or proof of defect is required for replacement unit, including clear photographs showing shipping label, shipping box, photo of whole unit, and two photos from different angles showing specific damage or defective area.  Photos larger than 110K file size will not be accepted, so please don't send 2 megabyte photos. If you must send 2 megabyte size photo files, send them by US mail. If an item is sent via US Mail and item is received in damaged condition, buyer must take the item and contents to their post office, file a damage claim, and establish proof of damage.  Buyer must provide seller with every reasonable opportunity to correct the problem with a damaged or defective item before leaving neutral or negative feedback.

Shipping
Most items are shipped from our Los Angeles area warehouse. Items paid will normally be shipped the next business day and on the evening of the day it ships, you should receive a tracking number. If you do not receive a tracking number by the third business day after your payment is made, please contact us.  Items shipped to the East Coast will take about 5 - 7 business days. Items shipped to Midwest will take about 3 - 5 business days. Items shipped to the West Coast will take 1 - 3 business days to be delivered.

Payments via PayPal will ship to your PayPal address of record.  If your shipping address, as registered on your eBay account is different than the address you have registered with PayPal, we will ship to your PayPal address of record.
